How to share a PDF as a link

  1. Add the document. Drag it onto the box above, or press Choose files and pick it from your device. Upload Folder takes a whole folder in one go.
  2. Wait for the bar to fill. The upload runs in the browser tab — there is nothing to install and no account to create.
  3. Copy the link. View File appears as soon as the file is stored. That link is the share link: send it by email, chat or anywhere else.

Whoever opens the link does not need an account either. The file is stored by LimeWire and the link opens on limewire.com, where it can be viewed or downloaded.

What you get without an account

These are the limits the uploader on this page actually enforces. They come from the service that stores the files, not from this page.

  • Up to 4 GB per transfer
  • Up to 20 files and 4 GB of uploads per day
  • A share link stays alive for 3 days
  • A file can be downloaded 10 times a day, and one link serves 12 GB in total before it stops

A free LimeWire account raises this to 40 GB of storage and 10 GB and 50 files a day. Paid plans lift a single transfer to 250 GB or 500 GB, give 2 TB or 4 TB of storage and drop the three-day expiry altogether — the full table is on the LimeWire pricing page.

Beyond PDFs

The page is built around PDF documents, because that is what most people arrive here with: a signed contract, an invoice, a scan, a portfolio, a deck that is too heavy for email. Nothing stops you from sending other files through it — images, archives, audio, video — the uploader treats them the same way and the same limits apply.

A PDF keeps its layout wherever it is opened, which is exactly why it travels badly through chat apps and inboxes that compress or reject attachments. A link sidesteps that: the document stays whole, and the recipient pulls it when they are ready.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes. Uploading a document and getting a share link costs nothing and needs no account. Paid LimeWire plans exist for people who need bigger transfers, more storage or links that do not expire, but nothing on this page is behind them.

Do I need an account?

No — neither to send nor to receive. An account only changes the limits listed above.

How long does the link last?

Three days for an upload made without an account. After that the link stops working and the file is removed. If you need it to stay longer, upload it while signed in to a LimeWire account.

How big a file can I send?

Up to 4 GB in one transfer without an account, and up to 4 GB in total per day.

Can I send a whole folder?

Yes. Upload Folder next to the file picker takes a folder with everything inside it.

Who can open the link?

Anyone who has it. The link is unguessable, but it is not a password — treat it like the document itself and only send it to people who should have it. For anything sensitive, a three-day expiry is on your side.

Something I uploaded should not be online. What now?

Send a takedown request through this form and it will be dealt with.
